Øyeblikkene ved havet
Ole Brodersen prøver å fotografere naturkreftene. 3. juni åpner han utstilling i Oslo, med blant annet nye bilder fra Jomfruland.

Utstillingen på Shoot Gallery i Oslo heter Tid med Havet og åpnes av Dag O. Hessen. Havet er nøkkelordet for Ole Brodersens virke som kunstfotograf, han lever og arbeider på Lyngør - der han også har vokst opp, som tolvte generasjon.
Den nye utstillingen inneholder bilder tatt fra drivende båt med lang lukkertid. Og arbeider fra Jomfruland, der Brodersen oppholdt seg som stipendiat i fjor høst. På Jomfruland tok han trippeleksponeringer av horisonten fra stranda, der vindstyrken definerte intervallene mellom eksponeringene. Slik overlates noe av prosessen til naturkreftene.

Ole Brodersen sier om bildene:
Disse er tatt fra fjæra ut mot havet, på Jomfruland. Her står kamera på et fast sted gjennom alle eksponeringene, og bildene vil, ved første øyekast, være villedende. Men gradvis vil en merke at de er bygd opp av flere lag med skyformasjoner og bølgemønstre. Ved hjelp av en vindmåler blir tidsintervallene mellom eksponeringene bestemt.

På Jomfruland tok jeg også bilder av de samme 15 trærne, spolte filmen tilbake, og fotograferte trærne pånytt. Seansen ble gjentatt tretti ganger totalt. Den fremkalte filmrullen presenterte multieksponerte skogspanorama, der de repeterende prosessene etterlot sine spor. Fingeravtrykk, ulike lysforhold og perspektiv er dermed inkludert i motivet. Måten bildene er oppbygd på, speiler – i svært beskjeden skala – måten endemorenen på Jomfruland er bygd opp i lag på lag, og over tid.

I fotografiene fra båt rigger jeg kameraet i en delvis ukontrollert situasjon, og lar tilfeldighetene spille inn. Målet er å skape bilder som ikke bare er øyeblikksbilder av landskapets skiftende karakter, men en nedtegnelse av opplevelsen av å være et sted og sanse alt som omgir en. Kameraet blir et slags subjekt som i værets favn tilnærmer seg en objektiv fremstilling av forholdene.
